Don Henry Moff

Don Henry Moff, 90 of Angleton, Texas passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. Don was born on June 11, 1931, to Josie Thomas & Finley Moff in Damon, Texas. Don was a member of the last graduating class from Damon High School. After high school he worked in the oilfields with his dad in West Texas prior to going to work for Ethyl-Dow in 1950. Don was inducted into the United States Army in February of 1951 where he served as a radio man in Korea. Don and his regiment endured intense fighting and terrific hardship, and his regiment was selected as the honor guard during the peace talks prior to the end of the war. After his discharge from the Army in November of 1952, Don went back to work as a pipefitter for Ethyl-Dow and later for Dow Chemical until his retirement in 1995 after 45 years. Don loved to fish, shrimp and hunt and he worked tirelessly taking care of his cattle and garden on his ranch in Damon. He married Jacqulyn (Jackie) Ruzicka in 1953. They have two children, Tamara Lynn and Don Henry Moff Jr. Don is preceded in death by his mother Josie Moff and his father Finley Moff, brother Elmer and sister Margie Hall. Don leaves a lifetime of love and memories to his survivors: wife Jackie of Angleton, Texas; daughter Tamara Gandy and her husband Kyle of Georgetown; son Don Moff Jr. and his wife Kathy of Beaumont, Texas; grandson Ryan Gandy and his wife Samantha of Lorton, Virginia; granddaughter Mackenzie Lear and her husband Ryan Lear of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter Alexandria Moff of Nashville, Tennessee; grandson Don Henry (Trey) Moff III of Beaumont, Texas; great grandchildren Elliott June Lear and Duncan Edward Lear of Dallas, Texas; niece Kathy Sanders of Mansfield, Texas and nephews Jon and Jim Hall. Graveside service will be held Monday, February 28, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Damon Cemetery. In-lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the First Baptist Church of Angleton, Texas.
