Donald Tillman Bailey, 91, of Angleton, Texas passed away on July 10, 2024. He was born to Harvey Tillman and Lyda Jane (Hicks) Bailey on July 17, 1932, in Rosebud, TX. As a teenager his family moved to Angleton, and it was here that he met and married Joyce Ullrich on June 22, 1957. They had 44 exciting years together before her death in 2002.
First and foremost, Donald T. loved God, his family, his church and his country. He was a true cowboy through and through, enjoying life and living it to the fullest. He loved to take a drive and travel. Whether it was going on a camping trip with the family or driving a school bus loaded with the FBC Youth Group to Glorietta, New Mexico, and, of course, listening to John Denver along the way, that’s when he was happiest. His smile could light up a room! He will be greatly missed, but, remembered well and often.
Donald T. was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Faye in 2002. Also preceding him in death were his parents Harvey and Lyda Bailey, sisters: JoAnn Moran and Evelyn Louise Bailey; and his great grandson Beau Tillman Bailey.
Those left to treasure his memory are his children: Wade Tillman Bailey and wife Karen of Angleton; Lisa B. Lampe and husband George of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Debbie B. Brown and husband Robert of Angleton; sister Winona Vasser of Danbury and brother-in-law D. P. Moran of El Campo.
Grandchildren: Chris (Brandi), Bailey, Michael (Hannah), Quinton (Tiffany), Daniel (Alexis), Jack, Olivia, and Madeline; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that he cherished.
A very special Thank You, to his grand-daughter, Bailey Brown, who made sure her Papaw lived his final years with dignity, meaning, grace, and most of all, with someone who loved him and made sure he was never alone.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Angleton, with Pastor Shawn Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the FBC Angleton Youth Group.
The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to IPH Hospice Care and Oak Village Healthcare.
