Don Dawson, 68, of Angleton, TX, triumphantly passed from this world into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 1, 2015. Don was born in Mission, TX to Allen and Mildred Dawson. He served three years in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Washington, D. C., he met and married his wife, Kay. After military service, he moved to Richwood, TX, and began a 32 year career working for Dow Chemical. Don had three great passions in his life, his beloved grandchildren, Erin Dawson, Wade O'Bryan, Kyle O'Bryan and Ryan Dawson who he adored, played with, and loved to the nth degree; his second greatest passion was his church family First Baptist Angleton, especially the youth and younger children who brought immense joy to his life, to love and just be there with them. They affectionately call him, Mr. Don. Don's third greatest passion was his Savior, who Don served passionately at the church he loved with his whole heart. His years at First Baptist Angleton were a time of great spiritual fulfillment for him and he enjoyed every moment. Don leaves behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his wife, Kay; son, Allen Dawson (Joanne); daughter, Sandra O'Bryan (Lesley); grandchildren, Erin, Wade, Kyle and Ryan; sisters, Van Dickey, Jeanie Hill, and Lee Lee Carlson; and many nieces and nephews he loved very much. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Angleton, 237 East Locust Street, Angleton, TX. Don was committed to seeing First Baptist Angleton move to its new location so many families would come to know Christ as Savior. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Baptist Angleton for the new church building to be relocated on Highway 288, Angleton called, "God's Vision in Action." Don's favorite B ible verse was "…IT IS FINISHED…" -John 19:30. A triumphant cry by his Savior Jesus Christ. Amen Provide comfort for the family by planting a tree in memory of Donald W.
