After a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, Dorothy Solari Finch passed away peacefully on August 21, 2017 at her daughter's home. A longtime resident of Angleton she was known and respected for her charitableness and humility. Dorothy took her desire to serve others beyond caring for her family. She will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched. Dorothy was passionately active in the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church for many years and a member of the Legion of Mary. She was employed with the Brazoria County Head Start and served as director for 20 years with fond memories. Dorothy was a pioneer advocate for the implementation of special education within the Angleton Independent School District. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L Finch, her parents, Louis & Celine Solari, brother, Larry Solari and sisters, Betty Trail & Lois Parro. Also her nephews, Jeffery Barras, Bart Barras & Chip Parro. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Renee Blessing and husband Duke and her two sons, Kenneth J. Finch and Guy L. Finch. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kimi Hunter, Hunter Groth, Garrett Groth, Jace Groth, Tye Finch, Travis Finch, Tanner Finch and Ashley Finch. Her great grandchildren, Tucker Groth, Hope Hunter, Tate Hunter, Reece Hunter, Jude Hunter, Piper Parke, Grant Groth, Aiden Valdez, Taylor Finch, Tarrah Finch, Hailey and Kylee Finch. She is also survived by her sister, Mattie Barras and husband Gary and sister-in-law, Barbara Maxwell. The family would like to thank Ms Ana Leveck, Ms Rita Vargas, Ms Josie Gutierrez, Ms Angela Ince, Ms Carolyn Blessing and Amed Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of our mother over the last several years of her life. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m.at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 24, 2017 with Father Victor Perez officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Angleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Ability Beyond Disability in Friendswood, Texas or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
