Dorothy ''Nanny'' Zacek

Beloved wife, mother, and "Nanny," Dorothy Zacek, passed peacefully from this world into her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, surrounded by her family.Dorothy was born in Edna, Texas to Johnny and Annabelle Gregory on August 13, 1934. She graduated from Edna High School and then married the love of her life, Irvin Zacek, on November 20, 1952. They lived in Jackson County until Irvin took a job with the Dow Chemical Company in 1968. Dorothy was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and shared her homemade treasures with her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the patio with her family and watching the grandkids play. Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years, Irvin; daughter, Donna Thomson (Will); son, Johnny Zacek (Dinah); grandchildren, Jaime Thomson, Jackie Meiste (Scot), Amy Cook (Stephen), Michelle Bell (David), Jennifer Zacek, and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Palm's Funeral home in Angleton, TX on Saturday, September 13, at 3:00 PM with Deacon Gerald Peltier officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday.
