Douglas Edward "Bubby" Barker, 60, of Houston passed away on May 26, 2023. Douglas was born on November 2, 1962, in Richmond to Edward and Bettie (Brasher) Barker. Douglas was a caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He spent most of his life working alongside his dad as a Project Manager at various construction companies across the Houston area. His attention to detail is what made him so successful. He loved working with his hands building DIY projects. Douglas led a quiet life but had a wide range of interests. He had a love for Texas A&M and the Houston Astros. Those that preceded him in death include his father, Edward Barker, younger brother, Timothy Barker, and brother-in-law Thomas Petrosky. Left to treasure his memory is his mother, Bettie Barker; sisters, Carolyn McDougald, Lisa Petrosky, and Autumn Esclovon; nieces, Felicia and Michaella Petrosky; nephews, Blake Barker and Brian and Braden McDougald; multiple great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved friends. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home with Pastor Judi Wilds officiating. Service Details.
