Because God has greater plans for him, Drew Edward Blawvelt, was sent to be with Him on October 2, 2020 at the age of 22. Drew was born in Houston and lived in Missouri City until the age of 10 when he moved to Angleton so he could graduate as a Wildcat. He was always an energetic child and teen participating in the sports of baseball, soccer, bowling, swimming, water polo, and Tae Kwon Do. As a member of a select U11 soccer team, he traveled to London, England to play in an international tournament with teams from around the world. Drew and his father studied Tae Kwon Do together and he became a certified Kukkiwon first-degree black belt at the age of 13 as well as a member of Team USK exhibiting his skills at many events over several years. He bowled in many youth leagues and was on a championship duo team for the Angleton Youth League. Drew also excelled in swimming on the Angleton High School swim and water polo teams advancing to Regionals twice. He was a graduate of the Wildcat Class of 2016 and received his service chord for performing 100+ hours of community service and several scholarships, which were all a result of the many hours he put in serving his church and community. Drew was an altar server at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church for many years always carrying the cross tall and proud. After graduation, Drew went on to study Auto Technology at Brazosport College and learned how to fix new and antique cars alike as well as ATVs and motorcycles and anything with an engine. He loved playing golf with his friends and spent many hours duck hunting and fishing. He loved life and celebrated it with vivid energy. He always had a smile on his face and a nickname for every one of his friends and family. He lit up the room when he walked in with his "What's uuuuppp?" and was always willing to lend a hand in any way needed. He was a loyal friend to not only people his own age but also to those that were much older and especially his grandparents who passed on before him. Drew showed respect to every person he came across and has always been known as "the most polite young man you've ever met." He adored his Great Uncle Rudy and bought his home that had seen many years of wonderful family memories. He loved owning his own place and hosted many of his friends for weekend barbeques and fun. Most recently, he was able to spend the past several months with his brother Brian who recently moved to Texas. They bonded together over brotherly love and auto mechanics and always seemed to have a wrench in their hands working on something. Drew loved animals and especially his own two dogs, Barry and Daisy May. He enjoyed taking them to romp on the beach and splash in the surf. He helped his Mom foster dozens of dogs for local rescues and always wanted to keep every single one that came through our home. He had a heart of gold to help everyone and loved every living thing. Drew was preceded in death by his Grandma Frances and Grandpa Puzz Schwartz of Angleton, Grams Janet Gallagher of Houston, father Mark Blawvelt, Papa Frank Shaw, Great Uncle Gene Schwartz, and Great Aunt Emma and Great Uncle Don Spiller. He is survived by his parents, James "JD" and Janie Schwartz-Shaw of Angleton, brother Brian Shaw, Siblings Shana, Jimi, and Dean Shaw, Great Uncle Rudy Stawarczik, Mama Sue Shaw, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Nancy Schwartz, Aunt Trina Aultman, and cousins Allyson, Erin, Addison, Amanda, Rowan, Riley, Morgan, Mason, Rita, Kaye, Rudie Lynn, Christie, Wesley, Claire, Corey, and Timmy.
