Edgar Lawrence Sohr Edgar Lawrence Sohr, 89, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born on May 22, 1927 in Borden, Texas to Leopold and Emma Sohr. He graduated from West Columbia High School. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during World War II. He was a long-time employee of Brazoria County and retired in 1992. After his retirement, he decided to go back to work for the County as an Inspector till he was 87 years old. Lawrence married the love of his life, Gladys Rehak in 1950 and moved to Angleton, Texas. His love for his family was strong and unconditional. His other loves were hunting, gardening and fishing. Many memories were made at the deer lease hunting with his family and close friends. He also had a special touch in the garden and loved to share gardening stories. Lawrence loved his church; the First Presbyterian Church of Angleton. He was active in the church by being an assistant Sunday School Superintendent, a deacon and an elder. He also worked with Scout Troop 13. He was a member of Woodmen Life, the Angleton Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Emma Sohr, sister Henrietta Bennett and brother in law Hurmet, Granddaughters Kimberly and Kristen Sohr and numerous other loved ones. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Sohr of Angleton. Sons Kenny Sohr and wife Dale of Angleton, Darrell Sohr and wife Carolyn of Angleton, Grandsons, Clint Sohr and wife Taylor of Aledo, Christopher Sohr and wife Sherah of Kingwood, Granddaughters, Amy Boughton and husband Robert of Pearland, Lindsey Willers and husband Alex of Angleton, Great-Grandchildren, Brooke and Barron Boughton, Kinsley and Bryleigh Sohr, Blake Sohr, Ashton and Bennett Syptak and numerous other loved ones. Pallbearers are Clint Sohr, Christopher Sohr, Robert Boughton, Alex Willers, Steve Carroll and Terry Novak. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Attar, Jeff Knight, All his hunting buddies for many years, Keith Mullins, Jim Wofford, Robin Wofford, Dennis Vosburg, Raymond Underwood, Kenny Gerdes, Leslie Beyer, Doug Roesler, Bobby Rehak and Michael Zellars. Service details as follows: Viewing will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Angleton at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will follow at the Angleton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Angleton or a Charity of your choice.
