Edna Crutchfield

Earlier this week, heaven was blessed with a beautiful new angel. Edna Earl Crutchfield left the earth to dance with the Lord in the early morning of April 6, at home surrounded by her family. Edna was born on October 6, 1928 and raised in Athens, Alabama where she resided with both of her parents and nine siblings - Margaret Lovell, Dot Miller, Florence Bowen, Betty Wales, Bud Dugger, Billy Dugger, Lester Dugger, Melvin Dugger, and Joe Dugger - most of who still reside there with their children and grandchildren. She moved to Texas in 1964 where she was the owner of several businesses in the Houston and Alvin area. She retired quietly in 1982 to Liverpool, Texas and in 1997 moved to a quaint neighborhood in Rosharon where she lived with two of her daughters. Edna was never without a child by her side and a baby on her hip. Not only was she a big contributor in helping her parents raise her siblings, but she also raised six beautiful children - Molly Ann, Brenda Carol, Steve Daniel, Teresa Lynn, Karen Darlene, and Alexis Michelle - as well as being a mother to her own children's spouses, several step-children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edna left not only many people behind but also a legacy. Her words always carried many years of wisdom and her actions always exhibited great strength. The family is asking you to join us as we celebrate this wonderful woman's life full of love and family. There will be a viewing of the body on Thursday from 5-8pm at Palm's Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. The funeral service will be Friday at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Richwood, Texas at 10 am, and following, at 2:30 pm, will be a burial at Forest Park Cemetery on Lawndale St. in Houston.
