In Loving Memory of Edward (Ed) Richard Fournie Airman 3rd Class - United States Air Force May 19, 1939 ~ December 23, 2016 Edward (Ed) Richard Fournie, 77, of Angleton, Texas passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on December 23, 2016. He was born May 19, 1939 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Edward Joseph Fournie and Mary Ann (Chorney) Fournie. Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday morning. Left to cherish Ed's memory is his wife, Edith (McDonald) Fournie, his daughters; Deanna Elza (Tony Varnado), and Gail Grigsby (David) both of Angleton, his brother, Andy Fournie (Denise) of Florida, grandchildren; (Rich) Clint Elza (Sanna) of Friendswood, Bryce Elza (Katie Ward) of Angleton, Maegan Grigsby of Angleton, great-grandchildren; Easton and Elliott Elza, sister-in-law, Sarah McDonald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ed is preceded in death by his parents; Edward Joseph Fournie and Mary Ann (Chorney) Fournie. Ed served his country the United States Air Force under Curtis Lemay in SAC. He enlisted May 22, 1956 and was discharged on May 5, 1960. After his discharge, he came to Texas to visit his Air Force friends Johnny and Iris Brune, where he met his wife of 55 years Edith McDonald Fournie. Ed worked as a mechanic for several local auto dealerships in Angleton. He was a volunteer fireman for the Angleton Fire Department in the early 60's. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Angleton Police Department. He then went into the equipment rental and was part owner of American Maintenance and Rental of Freeport. Ed enjoyed working on race cars and motorcycles with his friends Steve Duncan and Johnny Rouse. He loved to fish with friends John Duncan and Wimpy Lowe. He also enjoyed hunting and watching his grandkids play sports. Ed's true love was going to, and watching NASCAR. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite Charitable Organization.
