God welcomed Ellen Pesak Gaidosik to Heaven and her Spirit answered. On Thursday, November 5, 2015 her Spirit soared Heavenward to join in a joyful, pain-free celebration with Heavenly residents after eleven years of suffering from myriad health issues resulting from a massive left-side stroke. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville, Texas from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church located at 9122 Church Street Needville, Texas 77461 (979) 793-4305. Interment will follow the service at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery 3900 B.F.Terry Blvd Rosenberg, Tx 77479 (281) 341-8800. The officiant will be the Rev. Dr. Charles H. Terykl, a childhood friend, who reunited with Ellen recently with four consecutive meaningful visits. During these times, she seriously claimed him "as my Pastor," to use her exact words. Each time she would say to Charles, "Take me Home." She seemed to have such a "hunger for Heaven." He can't take her home, but perhaps he can "see her to Home-Heaven." Pallbearers will be Richard Matak, Daniel Matak, Peter Matak, Christopher Matak, Charles Matak, and Andrew Gaidosik. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark McLelland, David Pesak, and Luke Hall, Jr. Ellen was born on September 12, 1928, In Guy, Texas to Albina Merecka Pesak and Innocenc Pesak. Children born earlier, Brother Joseph, Sister Evelyn, and Brother Charlie, welcomed her. Later, along came Sylvia and Martin. All are deceased except for Sylvia. The Pesak's farmed, so, later, life in the rural, agriculture Needville area proved to be a hard working but enriching experience. In rural Williams School, grades 1-8, Ellen excelled as an outstanding student as attested to by her teachers and a 7th grade achievement test that ranked her a a 20- year-old sophomore college student. She continued to transcend expectations in high school, graduating from Houston San Jacinto High School in the top 10% of her class; winning District and Regional in Shorthand and representing the school at State and being very skillful in swimming and volleyball as she co-captained the Varsity Volleyball Team to City Championship. After graduating Ellen took a State exam over 14 subjects. She made the highest score that had ever been made in Fort Bend County. It entitled her to teach with a Teaching Certificate for three years. She began her teaching career, but it became interrupted when she and the love of her life, Alfonse "Spider" Gaidosik, decided to marry in June 1948. Into the world, they brought their children, Justin and Kay Ellen, and enjoyed life in various parts of Texas and Louisiana as "Spider" worked for, and was transferred by Texas Gulf Sulphur Company as Field Superintendent. Her family received not only the benefit of her goodness, brightness, and abilities but also they appreciated and enjoyed her church leadership talents and her skills in cooking and canning, and serving. Truly, Ellen was a lovingly devoted and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and family member, who will be sorely missed. Survivors include her son, Justin, Sr; daughter Kay Ellen Hardwick (David); and grandchildren Justin, Jr., and Jessica. Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or the Methodist Church in Winnie. In our hearts, she leaves a hole, but our lives have been made all the richer for the abundant love and light she generously shared with us and the world.
