Elmer Jay Shell Jr. was born on January 20, 1941in Angleton to Elmer Jay Shell Sr. and Nettie May Starnes. He passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Creekside Village Nursing Home in Clute, Texas. Elmer Shell went to Angleton High School and was a lifetime meat butcher and provided services and meat to many families in Angleton and surrounding area for years. Elmer is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife Mary Shell of 53 years, his first wife Lorene Lewis; brothers, Frank Lee Shell of Angleton, Robert Merle Shell, of Sweeny. Surviving sisters are Elvie Anna Steves of Angleton, Minnie Ella Mutina of Danbury, Joan Marie McCullom of Angleton, Lucinda Collins of Angleton, & Priscilla Goehring of Melbourne, Arkansas; 1 brother-in-law, Willie Wittliff and sister-in-law, Linda Shell. His surviving children are Elmer Jay Shell, III, Robert Edward, and Frank Shell, all of Mathis, Texas; Nettie Marie Rostetter & husband Mark of Angleton, Donna Lou Cunningham of Lake Jackson, & Tina Louise Adams of Mathis. He also leaves behind 15 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Service Details.
