Elsie Marie Kadera

Elsie Marie Kadera God called Elsie home on Friday, August 26, 2016 from Country Village Care. Elsie was born Elizabeth Marie Lubojacky on July 17, 1918 in Needville to Louis and Emilie (Uherck) Lubojacky. She grew up in Iowa Colony on a farm, picking cotton and corn and tending to various farm animals. She married Emil Kadera on November 29, 1939 and they moved to California during World War II. They then moved to Angleton in 1941, where he hired on with DOW in 1942. They were long time active members in Saint Anthony's in Danbury and then in Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton from the time it was built. Elsie moved to Country Village Assisted Living eight years ago and then moved throughout the facility as her health declined. While in assisted living, she made many bus trips to shop, eat and attend senior activities and loved The Gathering Place. Elsie was a housewife who raised two sons and a grandson and loved working in the yard and her flowerbeds. She was an excellent seamstress and made extra money by making baby clothes. She enjoyed church activities and baking for church benefits and many get togethers. She liked to vacation in Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and taking trips out of state with the family. In her younger days, Elsie and Emil liked to go dancing in Iowa Colony and Vrazel's in Danbury. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Emilie Lubojacky; husband, Emil Kadera; brothers, Raymond Lubojacky of Angleton, Edward Lubojacky of Alvin and August Lubojacky of Brazoria; sisters, Lillie Krampton of Iowa Colony and Edna (Simmons) Kundel of Houston. She is survived by her sons, Edwin Kadera and wife, Karyn of Brazoria and Robert Kadera of Angleton; grandson, Jon Kadera of Angleton; step granddaughter, Terri Frankum and husband, Kevin of West Columbia; sister, Libby Jez of Angleton; sister-in-law, Marion Lubojacky of Brazoria; brother-in-law, Keith Kundel of Houston; and step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be missed for years to come. Visitation will be on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N. Tinsley in Angleton at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Lubojacky, Jon Kadera, Edwin Kadera, Kenny Boulton, AJ Jez and Lou Krampota. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Kadera and Barry Kaylor. In lieu of normal remembrances please make donations to Alzheimer's Association.
