Emma Maggie Mitchell

Emma Magdalene (Maggie) Mitchell of Danbury, Texas passed away on October 27th, 2021, at the age of 89. Maggie was born on December 12th, 1931, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. She met her husband Joe at the post office in Apache, Oklahoma. They settled in Danbury, Texas and have remained a resident there since 1966. Maggie cared for and loved her family very much. She loved playing games, traveling, and huge family gatherings. Maggie was the matriarch of the family and will be missed dearly. Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Thrasher, her husband Joe Mitchell, daughters JoAnn King and Barbara Mitchell, son Gary Mitchell, son-in-law John Wayne King, grandson Kevin King, granddaughter Shanna Mitchell. Also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her son Donnie Mitchell and wife Gladys, daughter Vickie Hatthorn and husband Larry, daughter Sharon Lostracco and husband Steve, daughter-in-law Juli Mitchell, daughter Carolyn Warneke and husband H.D., and son Robert Mitchell and wife Amanda. Grandchildren Dee Mitchell, Tammy McDonald, Danny Mitchell, Kelly Scott, Dory Mitchell, Lori Buhner, Stephanie Maxwell, Janis Crumpton, Brian Lostracco, J.D. Warneke, Brent Mitchell, Kyle Mitchell, as well as eighteen great grandkids, two great-great grandkids, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The visitation will be held at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas on Monday, November 1st from 10:00-11:00 A.M. The funeral service will be held following the visitation, and burial will be at the Danbury Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers to include grandsons, Dee Mitchell, Danny Mitchell, Dory Mitchell, Brian Lostracco, J.D. Warneke, Brent Mitchell, Kyle Mitchell, and great-grandson Bradley Wright.
