Ernestina Cabarrubia

Ernestina “Tina” Cabarrubia, 82, entered her eternal home in heaven, December 7, 2024 peacefully at her home in Angleton, Texas surrounded by her family.

She was born November 7, 1942 in Weslaco Texas to the late Marin Gavina and Maria Ester Elizondo-Gavina of Hereford Tx.

In 1962 Tina married the love of her life, Joe Cabarrubia. They moved to Angleton in 1967 where they created a wonderful life with their 6 children.

Tina worked a few years at the Brazosport College as a substitute and in 1988 she began working at the Angleton courthouse until 1991. In 1999 she went on to work at the Utmb hospital in Angleton where she retired at the age of 80 in 2022.

Tina was a member of the Apostolic of Angleton Church. She was a strong woman of faith, always praying over her family.

She loved to dance in her living room to her praise and worship and gospel music with her hands raised high. In her spare time you’d find her in the stores shopping, she couldn’t drive, but she catch a ride to check out every boutique in town. Tina loved to shop.

Tina is preceded in death by her husband Joe Cabarrubia, (who went on to be with Jesus 22 days ago), her son, Jessie Cabarrubia, her parents Marin and Maria Gavina and her sister Esmeralda Sanchez and brother Miguel Gavina.

 She is survived by her children, Mely Hernandez (David), Elvia Cabarrubia, Liz Damian (Danny), JoAnne Thomas (Jarvis) and James Cabarrubia, 25 Grandchildren, 61 Great-Grandchildren, 16 Great-Great Grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Her Siblings; Esperanza Lara of Angleton, Elida Prouty of Angleton, Marin Gavina jr (Yolanda) of Hereford, Manuel Gavina (Yolanda) of Amarillo, Macario Gavina of Leveland, Martin Gavina (Rose) of Leveland, Mario Gavina of Frona, Mary Garcia (Joe) of Hereford.

A celebration of life honoring Tina Cabarrubia will be held at Palms funeral home 2300 East Mulberry St. Angleton Tx 77515 Viewing Friday December 13, 2024 5pm-7pm and Service Saturday December 14,2024 at 2pm.
