Ernestine Leake Folds, a beloved mother, wife, and Mamaw was called home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2023, at the age of 84. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ernestine was born on March 25, 1939, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to her parents Leo and Alma Leake. With a heart full of joy and determination, she embraced life's journey with grace and kindness. Ernestine dedicated herself to her family and found great joy in nurturing her loved ones.
A dedicated cafeteria manager, Ernestine served the students and staff of Angleton Independent School District for many years. Her warm smile and delicious home-cooked meals brightened the lives of countless children. She took pride in her role, ensuring that everyone felt welcome and cared for within the school community. She was the ultimate family lady. She took pride in her family. They loved to enjoy her homemade candy and cinnamon rolls. She was an avid quilter and also loved to crochet in her free time.
Ernestine's legacy of love lives on through her surviving children, who were the light of her life: Teresa Folds Martin (husband, Tim), Mark Folds (wife, Kathy), G.C. Folds, III., (wife, Grainne), and Karen Folds Morgan (husband, Mike). She is also survived by her brother Carlos Leake (wife, Elaine). Ernestine's spirit will continue to live on through her 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernestine was predeceased by her loving husband, G.C. Folds, Jr., her passing also reunited her with her late brother Pete Leake and her two sisters, Leona Moore and Irma Lee Gossett. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit of love and compassion will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Ernestine's life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor David Catoe. Prior to the service, a time of visitation and reflection will be held at 11:00 a.m., providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to share their memories and extend their support to the grieving family.
Following the funeral service, Ernestine will be laid to rest in the peaceful surroundings of Angleton Cemetery. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, her final resting place will serve as a reminder of the love and joy she shared during her time with us.
