Ernesto "Ernest" G. Garcia Jr. Ernesto "Ernest" G. Garcia Jr., passed away on Saturday, July 28. Ernest was born April 19, 1961, in Mission, TX to Ernesto Garcia Sr. and Olga Alaniz Garcia. He was a 1979 graduate of Angleton High School. Ernest was a proud, dedicated employee of The Dow Chemical Company for many years, retiring in 2017 from Olin Corporation. Growing up, Ernest enjoyed spending summers with his cousins in the Rio Grand Valley, all whom he deeply loved and remained close to throughout his life. He also had a love of fast cars and was an avid sports fan, with loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. Ernest had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep, positive way through his devoted fellowship. He was a committed, loving and beloved step-father to Angela Oswald and Amy Alvarado, and a fond, caring, and compassionate "Poppy" to grandchildren Luke Campbell and Kendall and Collin Oswald. Ernest is survived by Rose Villarreal, Joey Villarreal; Nephew Jaime and Alisha Villarreal, Jaime Jr., and Isabella; Niece Alex and Derrick Jones, daughter Ava, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ernest was most recently employed by Enterprise Pipeline in Odessa, Texas.
