Eva Mowery Kretzschmar

Eva (Mowery) Kretzschmar, 92, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 10, 2025. She was born on February 5, 1932, to Curtis and Estella Mowery of Sandy Point, Texas. She attended school in Angleton, Texas, and graduated from Angleton High School in 1950. Eva continued her education at Draughon Business College in Houston and went to work at Houston Lighting and Power as an accountant. In 1958, she gave birth to twin sons, Wendell Leo and Weldon Lynn. In 1980, Eva married the love of her life, Weldon ‘Krutch’ Kretzschmar. Together, Krutch and Eva’s favorite way to spend time was travelling all over the country. They especially loved Colorado, Arizona, and seeing both sides of Niagara Falls. Their favorite destination was the RV park in Castroville, TX where they spent many days enjoying traveling and making friends with fellow campers from around the country. They took great pleasure in fishing and eating in many different places and taking in as many museums as they could. They were season ticket holders of Aggie football for 22 years. Eva was a charter member of Sandy Point Bible Church.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Weldon ‘Krutch’ Kretzschmar, her parents Curtis Leo Mowery and Estella B. Mowery, many aunts and uncles, and sister-in-law Dorthy Sue Mowery.

She is survived by her sons Wendell Nanson and life partner Mary, and Weldon Nanson and wife Mercedes; brother Curtis Joe Mowery; grandchildren Weldon Nanson and wife Brittni, Shane Nanson, Casey Nanson, and James Nanson; great grandchildren Caitlyn, Gage, Kendall, and Rownyn.
