Evelyn Jolene Peters

Evelyn Peters, 76, of Angleton, Tx passed away peacefully surrounded by several members of her family on December 16, 2013 Evelyn was born on September 4, 1937 in Austin, Texas to John Robertson & Dora Wood. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Greg Beal on December 3, 2013 and nephew Mark Robertson. Evelyn grew up and was a long time resident of Round Rock, Tx. She attended school there and graduated from high school in 1955. From Round Rock she went to Waco and attended Baylor University. Evelyn was a trusted accountant and worked alongside Jim in the family business of Round Rock Building Materials. After closing that business she worked for the city of Austin in the Municipal Court Building as an accounting supervisor. She was well-loved and made many close friendships while employed there. Evelyn and Jim met while serving in the bridal party of her cousin and his close friend. They were married a year later on June 18, 1960. Evelyn loved family and spent so much of her time supporting her children and grandchildren's endeavors. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed sharing that love with Jim, especially if it was her beloved Baylor Bears or Dallas Cowboys. Evelyn also loved the Lord and served Him by serving others in her church, community and through charity opportunities. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jim; brother, John D. Robertson ; children Jayme, James and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Austin, Andrew and wife Alissa, Beall, Josh and wife Erica, Brittany, Allyson and Mathew Peters; great grandchildren, Cora and Emery Beall and another due in June. The memorial service for Evelyn will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at First United Methodist Church 219 N. Arcola in Angleton, Texas 77515. Evelyn loved supporting the American Cancer Society, so in lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to ACS.
