Evelyn L. Arnt Evelyn was born Dec. 22, 1924 in Houston, Tx to Cleora Clutter and Emery Clarence Eilers and passed away Monday August 11, 2014 in Angleton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Allen Arnt, to whom she was married Dec. 24, 1949 in Alvin, her parents, brother, Emery Eilers, son-in-law, George Kitchen, and daughter-in-law Sudie Arnt. Evelyn, spending her childhood in Alvin, has been an Angleton resident since 1950. She began her career working for Perforating Guns, moving on to Oklahoma University. She raised her children then returned to the business world at South Texas Girl Scout Council, then Bath Electrical Systems where she retired after serving more than 25 years. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Richard Arnt of West Columbia, James Arnt and wife, Debra of Angleton, daughters, Diane Kitchen of West Columbia, Nancy Arnt of Sugarland, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Blanchette, Jeff Nixon, Andy Bouse, Dameon Arnt, James Giddions, and Garrett Richardson. Funeral services for Evelyn L. Arnt, 89, will be held Friday at 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Angleton with Rev. John Black and Rev. Bonnie Cowing officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday at Palms Funeral Home. Provide comfort for the family by planting a tree in memory of Evelyn L.
