Filomena "Trudy" Garza

Filomena "Trudy" Garza, 87, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020, surrounded by her family. Trudy was born in Goliad, TX, on January 25, 1933 to the late Rafael Garcia and Juanita Garcia. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Trudy was loved by all for her faith, strength and strong will. Throughout the years she took care of many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trudy was truly a blessing to everyone she loved. Each morning was started with her rosary and prayer cards, she had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She looked forward to her breakfast and coffee dates with family and friends at her favorite restaurant Guadalajara in Angleton. Not only did Trudy have a love for music, but for many years she enjoyed going to dances with her friends. Trudy is survived by four children; David Garza, Michael Garza, Eva Olivares (Michael), and Ovidio Garza Jr. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ovidio Garza Sr., son Richard Garza, grandson Christopher Garza, siblings; Sostenes Casteneda, Nicanora Valdez, Mary Costilla, Rafael Garcia, Gloria Solis, Manuel Garcia. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2020, at 10am, with a rosary beginning at 9:30am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton, TX followed by a private graveside burial at Angleton Cemetery. Mass will be limited to 125 maximum capacity. A live stream will be made available for viewing on the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Angleton, TX Facebook Page.
