Frances Marie Lycka of Angleton, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 71. Frances was born in Schulenburg, Texas on September 8, 1945 to Edwin and Adela Hudec. She graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg. Frances married Charles J. "CJ" Lycka on July 17, 1965 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg - recently celebrating 52 years of marriage. Frances and CJ enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family at church bazaars and going on weekend trips. They loved visiting the farm and spending time at the bayou. The most special memories came from spending time with her immediate family during holidays, birthday extravaganzas and family gatherings. Frances was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court No. 2134 and the KJZT Court Angleton-Freeport. She retired from The Dow Chemical Company after working for over 20 years. Frances worked for R R Ramsower, Inc. in Angleton after retiring from Dow. She is preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Robert and Adele Lycka. Frances will forever be loved and remembered by her husband and best friend CJ. She is survived by her "perfect family", including her daughter Angela and her husband Patrick Hammond and their children Trent Lycka, Dillon and wife, Christina Hammond, Riley Hammond, Jarrett Hammond, and Robyn and husband, Brice Johnson. She is also survived by her son Philip and wife Deana Lycka and their children Philip Brian Lycka and Jordan Lycka. Frances was an adored "Nannie Frannie" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Levi Lycka, Nina Hammond and Leah Hammond. She leaves behind her brother Dennis and wife, Jeannette Hudec and sister Gladys and husband, Tom Dibala all of Rosenberg. Frances is survived by in-laws, Tom and Linda Lycka of Dallas, Bob & Nelda Lycka of Jones Creek and Jennie Lycka of Dripping Springs. Frances also leaves behind many family members and friends. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton, Texas. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., following the Rosary, with Father Victor Perez officiating. A special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of MD Anderson for their exceptional care and compassion. Thank you also to Lee Anderson, Jimmie Robinson and the family members who helped with travels to many doctor's appointments during the last few years - your kindness will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
