Francisco "Frank" Salinas Jr. age 59 from Angleton, TX died May 25, 2021 at his residence with loving family members present. Frank was born on May 10, 1962, at Angleton Clinic and Hospital to Francisco and Matilda Livas Salinas. Frank was a truck driver, a "tell it like it is man" that never met a stranger. He followed in his father's footsteps in becoming a truck driver and traveled all over the United States. He favored the "big rigs". He drove through two hurricanes delivering generators to hospitals and spoke of his rig being blown side to side. And being Frank, he returned loaded up, and made another run. Frank loved his children and grandchildren and spoke of them often. When told he was terminal the one thing he said is that he was not ready to leave his children, grandchildren and family. His job as a truck driver brought him much joy and he often shared some of the highlights of his runs with friends and family. Cooking was one of his talents and he was famous for his "beer can drunk chicken" as well as his delicious brisket. Frank loved fishing with family or friends. Even before hospice his brother Martin and he would go out in the early morning to "bait a hook". Martin would take him to the Intracoastal Waterway and Surfside. Towards the end Frank would ask to be taken and constantly checked the time for Martin to arrive. One of his favorite days was Martin taking him out then later doing "donuts" in the sand. His son, Zach was behind them and did the donut right after them. For the first time in a while, he laughed out loud. Whether he could fish or just sit in the truck and watch others fishing or the waves reaching shore, he was happy. He discovered that it was the simple things that brought him happiness and made us realize the same: family, the outdoors, music, rain and good food are all that is needed in one's life. Everything else is, "just more fish." He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Salinas.
