Frank Xavier Lopez Frank Xavier Lopez 76, of Angleton, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Georgetown, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm with a Rosary/Christian Wake at 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Mr. Lopez was born December 3, 1937 in Galveston, Texas to Fidelia Patino and Salvador Rodriguez Lopez. Pop was an avid gardener. He loved to fish, watch old country and western movies starring John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Clint Eastwood. He had a great fondness for Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller. He enjoyed watching any Military movies that starred Audey Murphy and also enjoyed watching CNN. Pop was hired by Emmett McCoy in 1954 to be a roofer's helper. Frank held many positions at McCoy's including warehouse worker, salesman, and Store Manager. In his final years with the company Frank was a Loss Prevention Specialist. Frank worked in McCoy stores located in Galveston, La Marque, Brazoria, Webster, North Austin, Weimar and Brazosport. La Marque was the first store where Frank served as Store Manager. Frank Lopez was also the first Hispanic Store Manager with McCoy's. The Weimar store opened in 1975 with Frank as a Store manager, and Brian McCoy as Assistant Manager. (Brian broke his foot while working for Frank in the Weimar Yard) When the Brazosport location opened in August, 1976, Frank Lopez became Store Manager at the facility. Frank had an amazing 50 year career at the McCoy's Building Supply Centers Company. A few years ago when the new McCoy's Headquarters was built in San Marcos, Texas Frank was honored by the McCoy's Corporation by naming a "Board Room" in his honor. On December 20, 2013 Frank was given a grand tour and witnessed for the first time the Honor that was bestowed upon him. He was humbled and extremely grateful. Mr. Brian McCoy, CEO of the McCoy's Corporation stated that Frank's room was used the most in handling business transactions for the company. Frank proudly served in the United States Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, Hawaii and the Philippines during his tenure with the Navy. Frank was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. His parents' and his beloved wife of 55 years Dolores Lopez preceded him in death. Survivor's include sons Salvador Lopez of Georgetown and Christopher Lopez of Angleton, Texas; daughter in law Maggie Lopez; grandchildren Stephane A. Lopez, Brandon C. Lopez and Mikey A. Lopez, Stephan E. Hay and Kevin J. Hay; great grandchildren; Brayden James Hay and Brianna Renee Hay; sisters Linda Villarreal, Mary Elvir, Delores Villarreal, Consuelo (Connie) Galicia, married to Leon Galicia, Fidelia Goff (Lela), John Villarreal (Bobby), Joe Villarreal, Alex Villarreal married to Yolanda as well as numerous nieces, nephews and, family and friends.
