In Loving Memory of Gary Dean Mitchell July 22, 1954 ~ May 4, 2017 Gary Dean Mitchell, 62, of Angleton, TX, passed away on May 4, 2017 in Galveston, TX. Gary was born on July 22, 1954 in Harlingen, TX to loving parents, Joe and Maggie Mitchell. The family moved to the area in 1962, and Gary lived in Angleton for the past 42 years. Gary was a dedicated maintenance manager at the Solutia chemical plant for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, was an avid sports fan, and liked to BBQ. His quality time was spent with his wife, daughters and grandsons. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Donald Joe Mitchell, and by his sisters, Barbara Mitchell and JoAnn King. He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Rex Bailey, Jr. Gary is survived by his wife, Juliann Mitchell; his daughters, Lori Buhner/John and Janis Crumpton/David; his grandsons, John Evan Buhner and Logan David Crumpton. He is also survived by his mother, Maggie Mitchell; his brothers, Donnie/Gladys Mitchell and Robert/Amanda Mitchell; his sisters, Vickie/Larry Hatthorn, Sharon/Steven Lostracco, and Carolyn/HD Warneke. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dolly Bailey, and his brother-in-law, Rex Bailey, III and Bunny. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and other extended family. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at First United Methodist Church located at 219 North Arcola Angleton, Texas 77515. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
