George Kenneth 'Ken' Lane

George Kenneth Lane George Kenneth Lane, 85, of Angleton, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Houston, Texas, in the Michael DeBakey VA Hospital. Funeral services are set for 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Palms. Burial will at Angleton Cemetery. Mr. Lane was born October 10, 1928 in Elbert, Texas to H.D. & Beulah (Bruton) Lane. He was preceded in death by H.D. & Beulah Lane, Phyllis Jo Lane, and Loreda Cutshall. Mr. Lane was a member of the VFW and American Legion, Charles Dixon Post #241. He ran "Lane's Lures" for many years. He was very crafty, enjoyed gunsmithing, rod and reel repair, and making spinning lures. There was nothing he couldn't do when it came to making things with his hands. He was a tool pusher and an oilfield welder by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman and after retirement "fishing" became his life's calling. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Joyce Lane of Angleton, Children; his sons, Kenneth Dale Lane (Carol), Stephen Charles Lane (Shanna), David Allen Cook (Mona), his daughters, Jan Noska (Dan), Paula Roberts (Dale) and Dona Heidman (Steve). Grandchildren; Lisa Schaefer (Terrence), Jeremy Gregg (Angelica), Rachel Gregg, George Lane (Lisa), Stephanie Lassiter (Ken), Melody Noska (Gary), Steven Noska (Lisa), Kaylan Noska (Jay), J.P. Falcon, Cassandra Howard, Sophia, Nicholas, Karl, Josef, & Maria Louise Cook and Harrison and William Heidman. Great-Grandchildren; Brianna and Reed Schaefer, Natalia and Danny Cardona, Anthony Gregg, Logan and Cooper Lassiter, Jordan and Jackson Lane, Blaine, Brody, and soon to be baby Cole Noska and Payton and Tyler Howard. THE FAMILY REQUESTS THAT NO PERFUME, HAIRSPRAY OR ANY OTHER FRANGRANT ITEMS BE WORN DUE TO A FAMILY MEMBER'S EXTREME ALLERGIES. ALSO REQUEST THAT NO LIVE FLOWERS BE SENT.
