The Life and Legacy of Georgia Lynn Bishop “GG”

Georgia Lynn Bishop, 67, of Angleton, Texas, left us far too soon on April 14, 2025, just two weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family — exactly the way she lived: surrounded by the people who meant everything to her.

Known to all who loved her as "GG” short for "Gorgeous Grandma". Georgia had a sparkle that could light up any room and a laugh that you’d recognize across a crowded house (or backyard, because she was never one to stay inside too long). She was the first to show up, the last to leave, and always ready for an adventure. If life was happening, GG wasn’t about to miss it — we like to think her serious case of FOMO kept her here with us just a little longer.

Georgia was never one to sugarcoat her words — she had a gift for telling it exactly like it was, sometimes with a few colorful words that made us laugh even harder. She wasn’t a cook (and proudly so!), but if there was a gathering, she was right in the middle of it, soaking up the sun, the laughter, and every precious minute with her people.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Jordana Harwell (husband Ernest) and Cara Ledsinger (husband Robert), who carry forward her strength, humor, and fearless spirit. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Chelsea Maddox (husband Caleb), Caitlyn Pennington (partner Bryant Webb), Blake Pennington (Miss Tilly), Henry Ledsinger, Andrew Harwell (wife Kristen), and Madison Mills (husband Wayne). She also adored her nephew, Richard DeLaro (wife Christine), and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in her 14 great-grandchildren.

Welcoming her into Heaven are her beloved husband, Dave Bishop; her father, Jordan Myers; her mother, JoAnn Nix; her brother, Richard Myers; her sister, Phyllis Myers; her nephew, Christopher DeLaro; and a host of loved ones who no doubt threw a welcome party fit for a queen.

Georgia taught us all how to live big, love fiercely, laugh loudly, and always, always say what’s on your mind. She leaves behind a family who will miss her terribly but will keep her spirit alive in every loud laugh, every heartfelt hug, and every sunny day spent outside with the people we love.

A celebration of Georgia’s life will be announced soon. Come ready to tell stories, share laughs, and honor GG the way she would have wanted — with joy, honesty, and a little bit of mischief.

We love you, GG. Save us a seat at the party.
