GERTRUDE FRANCES MANKINS, 93, of Angleton, Texas, was born June 8, 1919, in Denver, Colo., and went to be with her Lord on May 17, 2013. Gertrude was predeceaded in death by the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Bennett A. Mankins. They were married in Denver, Colo. On May 17, 1939. Grandma, as we lovingly called her, enjoyed music and played the piano for many years for her church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. She took her last cruise in January 2013. She was a quiet person who loved God and her church Gertrude is survived by her children, Norma Cheline and husband, Donald, of Angleton, and Bennett Mankins, Jr. and wife Sandra of Larkspur, Colo., five grandchildren, John Cheline and wife, Jill, of Austin, Tx, Jody David and husband David of Flatonia, Tx, Tona Wachtstetter and husband, Charles, of Lake Jackson, Mary Shine and husband Brett, of Lake Jackson, and Bennett III of Ft. Stewart, Ga. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-great grandchildren, and by a special family friend, Noy Horn. The family will host a visitation from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with services to follow Tuesday, May 21st, at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarine, 3007 Highway 332, Lake Jackson, Texas. Gertrude's graveside service will be held on Friday in Denver, Colo., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
