Gladys Westberry June 14, 1930 - March 30, 2016 Gladys passed away at the Sweeny House Nursing Facility on March 30, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer's. She was born June 14, 1930 to Taylor and Estelle Havard in Angelina County. She grew up in Huntington, Texas where she graduated from High School and married Jeff (Dick) Westberry on August 16, 1947 in Lufkin. They later moved to Freeport and she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Star Corporation in Freeport and retired in 1978. They moved to Toledo Bend in 1987 and came back to Brazoria County in 2008. They enjoyed a wonderful life filled with good times and traveling the United States in their motor home. She is survived by daughter Penny Goode and husband Ray of West Columbia, and daughter in law Lynn Westberry of Angleton. She had 6 grandchildren, Angela Hall, Christy Sturdivant, Seth and Jerrik Westberry and Mark and Robert Goode, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Charlene Schaer and son Alton Westberry. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Angleton Cemetery. A special Thank You to the wonderful nurses, aides and staff at the Sweeny House Nursing Facility who have taken very good care of her in this last year.
