Glenda Kaye (Draper) Thomas

Glenda Kaye Draper Thomas, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, was welcomed into the Lord's loving arms on January 28, 2025, at age 78. She was loved deeply and was cherished by all who knew her.

Glenda was the second of four children. She was born to Ivan and Elsie Draper on July 1, 1946, in Bakersfield, California. She graduated from Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas, in 1964 and then married the love of her life, James "Buddy" Thomas Sr., in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, on February 3, 1965. Together, they raised their two sons, Jay and David, in Danbury, Texas.

Glenda was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. A dedicated and faithful Christian, Glenda attended River Pointe Church in Richmond, Texas. She was known for her unwavering devotion, often praying to God on behalf of others and seeking His intervention in the lives of everyone she encountered. As we celebrate her life, we invite all who knew Glenda to join us in remembering the remarkable woman she was—a source of strength, compassion, and unwavering resolve. May her memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Glenda is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, James "Buddy" Thomas Sr.; their two sons, James "Jay" Thomas Jr. and David Thomas, wife Lynda; her brother Mike Draper, wife Pamela; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Elsie Draper, and her two sisters, Doris Rogers and Denise Mayberry.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, February 7, 2025, for visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E. Mulberry St, Angleton, TX. Funeral services in her honor will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Palms Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Angleton Cemetery, 328 Cemetery Rd., Angleton, TX.
