Godfrey John Parsons, 87, of Angleton Texas, died Thursday May 13th of apparent heart failure. Parsons originally of Detriot, Mich. is survived by his son Godfrey John Parsons II of Angleton, his brother William A. Parsons of Bowling Green, Ky., His Son-in-Law Joe Achoa of Angleton, His granddaughters Heather Meade of Lake Jackson and Candace Berg of Angleton, and two great grand children Noah and Zoe Berg. Parsons' funeral will be at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Lake Jackson, Texas at 1030 Weds., May 19th with visita-tion one hour prior in the narthex. Pr. William Parsons, of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fairhope, Ala., will officate assisted by Pr. Robert Sweet. A meal will be offered to those attending immediately following the service at the church. Parsons was married for 63 years to Phyllis (Height) Parsons who died in 2017. Parsons was a dedicated member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Angleton. He also attended St. Marks Lutheran Church, Lake Jackson. He was baptized and confirmed in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Highland Park, Michigan where he also attended ele-mentary school. He also prepped at Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne, where Parsons achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant at graduation. Parsons elected not to enter the armed forces or continue on to the Senior Col-lege but rather married the love of his life, Phyllis Height on March 29th 1952. Parsons had a colorful and varied career life. He worked in the family Lumber and Building supply firm "Haurpert and Parsons" on John R St., in Detriot. Additionally he invested in real estate, developed rental and sale properties, and opened a plumbing supply firm called "In-Town Supply" in Imlay City, Mich. Parsons and his wife moved to Lake Placid, Florida where he owned a coin laundry, retored and flipped homes and ran a limosine firm. When their daugher Debbie moved to Texas, Parsons and his wife decided to follow. In Texas, Parsons invested in rental properties and he and his spouse worked periodically for the U.S. Census Breau. When his wife suffered a crippling stroke, he devotedly took care of her for many years prior to her death. Parsons' remains will be interred at Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetary, Livonia, Mich., Pr.
