Harold Glenn Liddell, 80, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on September 26, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Liddell. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Darlyn Liddell; daughter Monica Matous and her husband Gaylon; son, Todd Liddell and his wife Mandi; granddaughters; Jordan, Reagan, and Ryan Liddell; grandson, Trey Matous; brother Ron Liddell and his wife Betty; and a host of other family and dear friends. Harold was born on March 3, 1940, in Thackerville, OK. He received his bachelor's and master's degree in Chemistry from the University of North Texas. Upon graduation, he joined the Dow Chemical Company, where he worked for 30 years. At Dow, Harold developed many great friendships and felt fortunate to travel the world extensively in his various roles. Harold most enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening; and he was an avid photographer. Harold pursued our Lord Jesus Christ, was strong in his faith and active in the Angleton Church of Christ. Everyone would agree that Harold had a kind, caring and gentle soul. He never met a stranger and would take any opportunity to build a relationship with the people around him. Harold loved his family immensely and prioritized spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his last years, he fervently devoted his time and attention to caring for his wife Darlyn in their home as she battled Parkinson's Disease. The deep love that he had for her is aptly described in John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one's life for one's friends." Harold will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral service for Harold will take place at Angleton Church of Christ, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 2:00 pm. The burial and graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens of The Valley, in Weatherford, Texas, on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1:00pm.
