Harold Lamon Castle

Harold Lamon Castle went home to be with his Lord, January 19, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Born January 18, 1935 to parents Rayburn Castle and Elizabeth Sallee Castle in Honey Grove, TX. His early childhood included long walks with his gun and his dog. He enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life. At the age of 10, he made his profession of faith at First Baptist Church, Ladonia, TX. He moved to El Campo, TX in his preteen years and attended El Campo High, where he met his first wife. Lamon enlisted in the National Guard earning marks in sharp shooting. Upon graduation he started work at Dow Chemical in the Mag Cells. He worked there 19 years. He ran an appliance repair shop with his dad for a few years in Freeport, TX. His last career move was to own and manage Brazos Wood Apartments, where attendants affectionately called him "Mr. C." When Dad turned 40, he decided to learn to dance so spent lots of weekends practicing at the local dance halls. He and his wife joined the Texas Polka Club and the El Campo Dance Club. He loved traveling with his wife, on cruises with the Polka Club. Weekends were spent at the River House hosting family events, card games, fishing trips, and water skiing. Time was also spent outside with his garden, citrus trees, and his honeybees. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rayburn Castle and Elizabeth Sallee Castle, and by his sister, Francile Castle Ballew. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Patterson Castle, daughter Rhonda Castle Houston, son Monty Castle & his wife Carolyn, and son David Castle. His grandchildren, Philip Clay Houston VI, Alice Marie Houston, Paul Michael Houston, Arthur Lardent Castle, Cora Louise Castle, John Luke Castle, & Dustin Gene Castle; niece & nephew, Debbie Garza and Grover Hargrove as well as four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 am. Service Details.
