Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Great-Grandmother, Hazel Carrington, 101 of Freeport passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Clute. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2019 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brent Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until service time. Mrs. Carrington was born in VanVleck, Texas on October 30, 1917 to Robert & Emma Powell Walden. She was a long time Brazoria resident and a member of Jones Creek Baptist Church, The Rebecca Lodge of Brazoria, and worked at Lonis Grocery in Brazoria for many years. She loved to go to Dirt Track Races with her family. Mrs Carrington was preceded in death by her brothers; Sam Walden, Bill Walden, Luther Walden, Buddy Walden & Clayton Walden. Sisters; Lorene Anderson, Pearl Florence, Lily Guinn & Vivian Guinn. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Hatthorn Wasek & husband Frank, sister Elsie Wallace, grandchildren, Glen Hatthorn & Sherrie Hatthorn. 8-Great-Grandchildren, many Great-Great-Grandchildren as well as numerous other family and friends.
