Heraclio Octavio "Rocky" Garcia

Heraclio Octavio Garcia, 78, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020. "Rocky" is preceded in death by his father, Heraclio Garcia. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Nau Thi Garcia; mother, Elvira Garcia; sons, Lien Garcia, and Richard Lang Garcia and wife, Denise; brothers, Hector, Henry, Andy, and Raul Garcia; grandchildren, Jayden Garcia and Dalton Yarborough; and a host of other family and dear friends. Rocky was born on May 14, 1942, in Lockhart, Texas and grew up the oldest of 5 boys. During high school he was a star basketball, baseball player and was 1st chair trumpet player for Lockhart High School. The Lockhart Spanish community would look forward to watching Rocky play sports and filled the stands watching him have many no-hitters, shutouts, and basketball goals. He went on to play baseball and basketball at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Tx. He played in the Junior College World Series for the Blinn College Buccaneers. He went on to enlist to proudly serve our country as a Sargent in the United States Army 5th Special Forces Group Airborne Green Beret: Vietnam. In his free time, you could find Rocky riding motorcycles, fishing, playing pool and spending time with friends. He enjoyed dancing with his wife and playing Conjunto music on his accordion. More than anything, Rocky loved being a father and grandfather. He was a wise man whose opinions were valued by many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation and funeral service for Rocky will take place at Palms Funeral Home, Angleton, Texas, on Sunday, October 18, 2020. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until service time at 4:00 pm. Space is limited Due to COVID-19 & Masks are required. Service Details.
