Howard Hardy

Howard Hardy of Angleton, Texas went to be with our Lord on the morning of October 9, 2020, at the age of 89. Howard was born on February 26, 1931, in Stinnett Texas. He was the sixth of eight children born to Keith and Thelma (Sumpter) Hardy. Howard was always one to lend a helping hand, as a child he spent most of his time helping with chores on the family farm. He graduated from Leverette's Chapel Senior High School in 1949, from there he joined the Army Reserves where he was called to duty during the Korean War. Upon his return, Howard attended East Texas State Teachers College. In the summer of 1955 Howard married Rita Yvonne Mitchell, they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where they had three children. Mildred, Kenneth, and Kelly. Howard was a school teacher until his retirement in 1973. The family moved to Angleton, Texas where Howard worked for RR. Ramsower INC., ICS, and finally Smiths Remodeling. He is survived by his children Mildred White, Kenneth Hardy, and Kelly Kendall; grandchildren Megan Kendall, Iris Bennett and husband Nicholas, Keith Kendall, and William Chance; great-grandchildren, Gaige, Emilyne, Everleigh, AnnaLynn, Zacharias, and unborn baby Mikhael; brother Billy Tom Hardy; and special friend Wilma Parkinson; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Howard is preceded in death by his parents Keith and Thelma. His wife Rita Hardy, his siblings Clarence, Forest, Jerry, Thelma, Stella, and Margaret. Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Palms Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at Angleton Cemetery. Service Details.
