Irvin Robert Illgen, 91 of Angleton, TX went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born to Oscar & Hilda Illgen on December 4, 1922 in Freeport, TX. Funeral services are set for Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Church of Christ on Wilkins St, in Angleton, TX at 10:00 a.m. With burial to follow in Angleton Cemetery. A Public Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carline Illgen (1985), and his parents. Irvin is survived by his wife Betty Illgen of Angleton, sons; Robert Illgen & wife Daneille of Corpus Christi, TX, Bryan Illgen & wife Cindy of Crosby, TX, Craig Fuller & wife Laurie of North Carolina, daughters; Pamela Jean Illgen Hillman of Angleton, TX, Mary Dunn & husband Jerl of Gilmer, TX and Sharon Fuller of Bella Vista, AR., as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad since 1985 and a US Army Veteran during WWII. Serving as pallbearers; Wade Schumacher, Troy Illgen, James Illgen, Shawn Lightfoot, Douglas Tucker and Jerl Dunn II. Honorary Pallbearers; Scott Fuller and Bruce Fuller. A special thank you to the staff of Cypress Woods Care Center. In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Cystic Fibrosis Charity or your local Church of Christ in his name.
