Jack Jordan "Cowboy" Bevers

Jack "Cowboy" Jordan Bevers, Jr. 73 of Angleton, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020. He was born to Jack and Mary Bevers on December 7, 1947 in East Bernard, TX. Jack enjoyed playing sports and raising animals in his youth. He graduated from Sweeny High School in May 1967 and was a proud member of the state champion football team. He continued his education at Wharton Junior College until he left for the Army. He was proud of his time in the US Army and service to his country in Vietnam. He completed his service in 1971 and went to work in the plants as a welder, pipe fitter, and pipe & shutdown foreman as he attended Brazosport Junior College as an honor student. He later began his barbeque business know as Cowboy's barbeque in 1985 where he also sold Christmas trees. People gathered from miles around to eat his delicious food. Cowboy's next chapter was to become a first mate and later an offshore Captian. Cowboy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and socializing with friends. Some of the organizations he worked/volunteered with were the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 1981, Brazoria County Fair Association, Life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wildcats Booster Club member, and Life Member of the Disabled American Association. He never met a stranger and would help anyone he could. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty Jean Bevers, second wife Delores Bevers, and numerous other relatives. Jack is survived by his daughter Stephanie Munson and spouse Stratton and granddaughters Emily and Brooke of Angleton and son Jack Bevers and spouse Ryan of California. Jack also has a bonus daughter Lori Thompson and spouse Matt and granddaughter Callie of Mount Belvieu and son Jodie Vesely and spouse Gabrielle and grandchildren Haddee, Gideon, and Tobias of Russia. Jack is survived by his older sister Faunda O'Rear of Rosenberg, younger brother John Bevers and spouse Treasa of Angleton, and younger sister Pat Delony and spouse Jim of Sugarland. Jack "Cowboy" Bevers also leaves behind ex-wife Marta del Valle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends whom he cherished. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or local veteran's charity of your choice. A Private Graveside service will be held at the Orchard Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Service Details.
