Jack McGuire Potter Jack McGuire Potter Sr. of Angleton, Texas died July 7, 2013 in Angleton. He was born August 14, 1920, in Clifton City Mo to Jabez Hubbard Potter and Zeta Gehringer (McMullin) Potter. He was married to Martha Shanabarger on August 8, 1946. He attended the Clifton City public school; Otterville High School; Smithton high School; Missouri Valley College; The University of Houston; St Thomas University; The American Institute of Banking. He served in the United States Navy. He worked at the First National bank in Kansas City Mo; Second National Bank in Houston. In 1985 he retired as Senior Vice president and Cashier of the Angleton Bank of Commerce He returned to his childhood home, and worked part-time at Bank 21 and the Smithton Bank, he obtained his Real Estate license and worked at Curry Real estate. In 2011, he received the Angleton Chamber of Commerce Pioneer Award. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jabez Jr. and sister Imogene. He is survived by his loving wife Martha of 67 years; son Jack Jr. and wife Shirleen; four grandchildren Jeffrey, Janece, James and Robert. Two great granddaughter Alyssa and Allison.
