Jacqueline June Crane Walters known to most as Jackie, Mom or Grandma, was born December 29, 1933, to Frances Ezra Crane and Ellen Nelsonia Herndon Crane in Oswego Kansas and left this earth on June 19, 2024,
Mom was not one to brag about herself, so we won’t brag either. Those that knew her, knew of her accomplishments. She was mom to so many more than the children she birthed and Grandma to many of the cast and crew in the many Brazosport College Drama Dept. plays that she helped with. To many others she was Ms. Jackie.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband Meryl Walters, her siblings Frances Owens, Patricia Johnson, John Crane, Michael Crane and Richard Crane. Also, her two daughters-in-law Sherry Mitchell Walters and Allison Davis Walters and her son-in-law Mack Casey. Her Grandsons Joshua Walters, Matthew Walters, Corey Walters, Daniel Walters Jr, Christopher Casey and Daniel Perez Walters also preceded her in death.
Left to share her memories are her sister Judy Thompson and nephew Billy, Sisters-in-law Sandy Nance and Carol Crane and Brothers-in-law Leslie Walters and Lowell & Cathy Walters. Her children Leisa Hale, Terry & Carolyn Walters, Laurie & John Featherstone, Daniel Walters, Kathi Walters Valle, Kevin & Kay Walters, Patrick & Sheila Walters and Peggy Walters Casey. Along with 23 grandchildren and spouses, 58 great grandchildren and spouses and 17 great-great grandchildren. She had a number of sons from other mothers which meant a lot to her, Donnie Riley, Tim and Dan Fondren, Chuck Cypert and Greg Sparrow. And we can’t forget the nieces and nephews who helped fill her heart with love.
