James Bernard "J.B." Sibley

January 29, 1929 — July 13, 2020

James Bernard (J.B.) Sibley was born on January 29, 1929 in Many, Louisiana to Florien Tillman and Ida Mae McCollister Sibley. He grew up in a small family community called Shuteye and attended the little country church, Mount Olive Baptist Church. He graduated from Many High School in 1945 and entered the Army in 1946 and honorably discharged in 1948. He came to Brazoria County in 1951 where he went to work for Dow Chemical in the plants and retired in 1986 from Caustic II. He married Martha Faye Berel from Florien, Louisiana on October 18, 1952. He is survived by his wife, Martha Sibley, Deborah Lynn Sibley Peterson and James Peterson of Angleton, their children, Heath Peterson and Wendy of Nacogdoches, Amy Gregory and David of Weston Lakes, and Judy Karen Sibley Savage of Conroe and her girls, Heather Savage and Haylei Savage all of Conroe. Great-Grandchilden, Kade Peterson, Jhett Gregory, Kash Gregory, Levi Aguirre and Londyn Gregory; Sister Louise Gandy, Sister-in-laws Linda Summers, Fredia Sibley and Delma Sibley and Brother-in-law Laverne Cobb. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Angleton where he faithfully served until he entered Country Village Care. There will be visitation at Palms Funeral Home, Angleton on Wednesday July 15th, from 10:00am to 11:00am and Family graveside services at Angleton Cemetery for the family. Donations in J.B.'s name can be made to first Baptist Church, Angleton to the God's Vision in Action Building fund in lieu of flowers. 237 E.
