James Birger Olin

December 27, 1937 — March 2, 2014

On March 2, 2014, James Birger Olin died at the age of 76. Jim was born December 27, 1937 in Evanston, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Tillie and Birger Olin. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harris Olin of Angleton; two daughters, Jennifer Autry and husband, Trey and Wendy Olin both of Angleton; grandchildren, Tyler and Haley Autry of Angleton and Kaitlyn Olin of West Columbia. He is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Moore and husband, Tom Moore and niece, Laurie Moore and nephew, Jimmy Moore and wife, Brandi and great niece Katilyn and numerous cousins. He served in the Navy and was stationed in Guam. He attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene where he and Barbara met and married. He received a Bachelor's Degree for the University of Houston and a Master's from Sam Houston State. He taught at Brazsport High School and worked for Schwan's Foods. Jim was a member of Kiber St. Church of Christ and was active in all the church activities and Bible studies. He enjoyed tinkering on the computer and going to watch his grandson. Tyler Autry play football and especially loved having coffee with a group of friends. The family would like to thank the friends and family who called, visited, prayed and sent cards to him during his long hospitalization.
