James E. Cato James E. Cato, 88, formerly of Perry's Landing (Jones Creek), Texas went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2013 in Angleton, Texas. He was born on April 24, 1925 in Avery, Texas to Henry Wilber and Daisy Belle Peek Cato. James was a WWII veteran, Past Master of Brazoria Masonic Lodge 327, and a Shriner. James was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years and mother of his children, Myrl Waters Cato; parents; and youngest daughter, DeaAnna Cato. James is survived by his present wife of 16 years, Maelena Cato and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his daughters, Frances Means and husband, Willie; Trina Moss and husband, Gary; Linda Free and husband, Wayne; Cheryl Cato; sons, Wayne Cato and wife, Connie; Jimmy Cato and wife, Melinda; nineteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas with burial to follow in Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
