James Edward 'Jim' Cook

James Edward (Jim) Cook loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, 67, of Angleton, went to be with his Savior on March 22, 2015. He was born on September 4, 1947 in Angleton, Texas to Lee Edward Cook and Georgia Mae Harlan Cook, the middle of three boys. He graduated from Angleton High School. Immediately after high school, he proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a long standing member of the Woodmen of the World fraternal organization. He served as camp director for several years of the Woodmen Youth camps in Alvin and Bellville. He enjoyed boating, astronomy and photography, winning an honorable mention for his Haley comet photo and wildlife photos at the Brazoria County Fair. He enjoyed barbequing, projects with his tractor, and sitting on his back porch enjoying the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Georgia Cook. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Irene Joy Cook, one son Ronald Wayne Cook and his fianc Jennifer Johnson of Brazoria, and one daughter Stacy Elaine Cook of Austin. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren John, Samantha, Kamryn, Caleb and Cole. He is survived by two brothers Wade Earl Cook and wife Linda Sue Cook and Robert Lee Cook and wife Linda B. Cook and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Thursday, March 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 27th at Palms Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob Cook, Claude Hardesty, Logan Hardesty, George Walder, Wayne Roberts, and James Wise.
