Janessa Joy Garza

Janessa Garza, age 47, of Angleton, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 18, 2023 after a long illness. Janessa was born to Steve and Joyce Horelica on June 1, 1976 in Freeport, Texas. Janessa graduated from Angleton High School in 1994. Shortly after graduating she began working for The Angleton Times (Southern Newspapers) and worked there until their closing in 2004. She then went to work for The Facts and continued to work there until health issues forced her to retire (26 years). She loved all animals from the usual cats and dogs to exotic snakes and sugar gliders. She even had a cow at one time. But her favorite pet was her three legged dog, Flip. Janessa was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Steve M. and Emelia Horelica; maternal grandparents, Joe and Bertha Kubacak; and father-in-law, Manuel J. Garza. She is survived by her husband, Marcos Garza, of Angleton, Texas; parents, Steve and Joyce Horelica, of Angleton, Texas; brother, Steve Horelica (Jamie), of Angleton, Texas; mothers-in-law, Mary Gerwig (Don), of Galveston, Texas and Linda Frantz, of Cypress, Texas; and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary immediately following at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., with a burial immediately following at Angleton Cemetery, 328 Cemetery Road, Angleton, Texas.
