Funeral Mass for Jerome Henry Novak, 91, of Danbury will be held on Monday January 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in the Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Henry passed away on January 6, 2022. Henry was born to Adolph and Carrie Novak on September 26, 1930. He married Mary Catherine Smith on December 2, 1950 in Danbury. Henry was a rice farmer and rancher all his life. He was a lifetime member of Brazoria County Cattlemen's Association, member of the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) since 1967, served on the board of ABBA for 23 years, member of the Texas Brahman Association since 1968, director of ABBA for 4 years, served on the youth committee for Brazoria County Fair, served on Danbury Independent Equalization Board, an honorary state farmer, member of Texas Farm Bureau, member of SPJST, and member of the Rice Council. Anyone who knew him appreciated his love and passion for Brahman cattle. In 2015, the ABBA dedicated the international Brahman Show to Henry and in 2019, the ABBA dedicated the National F1 Female Sale to Henry for his longtime devotion to the Brahman breed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Carrie Novak, brother, Allen Joe Novak, and sisters, Lorraine Peterson and Elsie Shuman. Henry is survived by wife, Mary Catherine Novak, sister, Shirley Owens, sons, Larry Novak (Janell) and Terry Novak (Lorie), grandchildren, Samantha Deckert (Daniel), Heath Novak, Torie Hodder (Sean), and Kristy Myers (Stratton), and 10 great-grandchildren. Death takes the body, God takes the soul, Our mind holds the memories, our hearts keep the love, Our faith lets us know we will meet again. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jerome Henry Novak Memorial Scholarship, Texas Junior Brahman Association, P.O. Box 26, Campbellton, TX 78008.
