Jerry Ervin Svetlik

December 5, 1953 — January 21, 2024

Jerry Ervin Svetlik, 70, of Angleton went to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2024. Jerry was born on December 5, 1953, in Angleton to Julius Jerry and Dorothy Lea (Miller) Svetlik.

Jerry married Cynthia Hattaway on Sept 21, 1973 in Angleton, Texas.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic with his precious granddaughter, Eden Svetlik. He worked for 40 + years in supervision at several area fabrication shops in the petro-chemical industry, and in several chemical plants in the area. While at home, you could find him on his tractor or in the back yard pruning his potted plants and flowers on the back patio, which he took great pride in. He was a very social person and never met a stranger. He had several friends who he traveled with on motorcycle trips, touring all over Texas and Arkansas. When traveling with friends to various states, we always had to turn around to look for Jerry, making sure he was still with the group, because he was forever stopping to converse with strangers and making new friends everywhere he went. He took great pride in his son, teaching him how to hunt, fish, weld and fix almost anything broken. One of the greatest joys in his life was the birth of his only granddaughter, who he loved, cherished, and spoiled everyday. Eden was “pawpaw’s little pumpkin”. In her, he had a new “partner in crime”, taking her fishing at the secret fishing hole, showing her how to shoot her first gun, hunt, and drive his tractor. He enjoyed spending time with his good friends from his school days, telling stories of times past and laughing at all the crazy things they used to do. He loved traveling with his wife and good friends on vacations and other excursions all over Texas, as well as Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Being the cat hater he was, he had a loyal feline, Dora, who layed beside him everyday on the couch as he watched tv. The cat thought that Jerry was her “mother”.

Those that preceded him in death include his parents, Dorothy Miller and Julius Svetlik.

Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife Cynthia Svetlik, son Kevin Svetlik and wife Sara, only granddaughter Eden Svetlik, and numerous other family members and close friends.
