Jerry Glen Farrell

July 2, 1956 — June 28, 2021

Jerry Glen Farrell, of Clute, was born on July 2, 1956 in Freeport, Texas. He passed away in the early morning hours of June 28, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Jerry worked with Actions, Inc of Brazoria County over the last of couple years, finding great joy in helping elderly and disabled people get food through the Meals on Wheels program. He loved talking with everyone on the phone and enjoyed being an encouragement during his daily phone calls. Jerry also worked as a truck driver and a school crossing guard before he lost his leg to a blood clotting emergency. Jerry was proud to have served in both the Round Rock and Clute Volunteer Fire Departments. Jerry had a very giving spirit and that was evident by his service to others. Jerry is survived by one sister, Linda and Tom Lott of Fulshear, Tx, nephews Jason Skidmore (Conroe, TX), Danny Skidmore (Goldsboro, NC), niece Courtney Lott (Tomball, TX), and nephew Thomas Lott (Concord, NC). He is also survived by brother-in-law Keith Skidmore (Jewett, TX), and lifelong friends Stephen and Sherry Childress. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Martin Henry Farrell and JoAnne Farrell George, sister Doris Skidmore, brothers Kerry Farrell and Terry Farrell. Jerry loved the Dallas Cowboys and had an astonishing collection of memorabilia from his many years of watching his favorite team. He also loved softball, especially watching his friends' children play in the Clute/Lake Jackson area. Jerry loved people and he loved the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all, he loved Jesus. Jerry was a long-time member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Richwood where he could be found in nearly the same seat each service he attended. Per Jerry's wishes, a memorial service will be held at Unity Missionary Baptist Church on July 18 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Actions, Inc of Brazoria County or Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Richwood in Jerry's memory. Service Details.
