Jewell Alice Collier, 73, of Angleton, Texas passed away December 12, 2014 in Angleton, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1941 in Edinburg, Texas to Verval O. Estes, and Geraldine Newton Estes and grew up in Beeville, Texas. Services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. Jewell was greeted in Heaven by her parents, three brothers; Robert, Bill, and James Estes, and by her husband, Johnny L. Collier. She is survived by sisters; Carol Estes Yaws, and Rochelle Jameson Striddle, brothers; David Estes, Stewart Jameson, and Phillip Jameson, brother-in-law, Terry Collier, her children; Robert Starr and wife Tracie, Gerri Jones and husband Vernon, Billy Edwards and wife Ava, Darrell Edwards and wife Tracy, Jimmy Edwards and partner Bill, Lorie Allen and Carol Collier. She was known as Nanny to 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, as well as to many, many other children. She was a guiding light, a pillar of strength and shining example to many who loved her and will miss her in their daily activities, but will be with them in their and memories forever.
