Jim Gilliam passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the age of 44. He was born in Angleton, TX to Brent & Patsy Gilliam of Richwood, TX. Jim went to Brazoswood High School before attending Texas State Technical College where he majored in Aquaculture Technology. He served in an internship at Sea Center Texas, which led to employment with Texas Parks and Wildlife at Brazos Bend State Park. He then went to work for the Brazoria County Fair Association where he was employed as the maintenance supervisor. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid fishermen. Raised by his father to have a love for fishing, he could regularly be found on the water, usually with his brother, David. Jim was a great father, adored by his kids and family. He was proud of his children and was quick to share stories of their accomplishments with others. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Brenton Gilliam; his wife, Kara Gilliam; children, Jared & Aiden Gilliam; brother, David Gilliam; and a host of other family & friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Gilliam. Visitation for Jim will take place at Palms Funeral Home, on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Angleton Cemetery immediately after.
